A Linton drug investigation led to the arrest of a Midland resident by Jasonville Police Department officers Wednesday.

Ryan P. Followell, 31, was arrested around 12:10 a.m. by Jasonville officers Ryan Van Horn and Chuck Cox. He's charged preliminarily with possession of methamphetamine with a firearm, a Class C felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

A Class C felony carries a prison term of two to eight years and a maximum fine of $10,000. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum $5,000 fine.

The arrest stemmed from an ongoing drug investigation by the Linton Police Department, according to LPD Chief Troy Jerrell. He said it may lead to other cases being filed.

“They did a real good job,” Jerrell said of the investigation and arrest. “It's part of our effort of working together with other departments.”

A search warrant was issued and served on Followell's Midland residence in the early morning hours of July 7. The search yielded a small quantity of meth, paraphernalia and a handgun. Followell was not present when the warrant was served, so charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued. He was arrested Wednesday in Jasonville.

LPD Patrol Officer Josh Goodman is the investigating officer on the case. Members of the Jasonville Police Department and Greene County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation, search warrant and arrest.

According to Jerrell, the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
